Luxist: Maison Martin Margiela never fails to surprise us. The always risk-taking fashion house keeps us guessing with what they’ll produce next by creating unique and unconventional pieces.

As part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, a set of Wooden Wallets ($425) caught our attention. Made from solid wood with a lacquer finish, the grains are emphasized beautifully. The interior is leather with three credit card slots, three compartments and an elastic to secure your cash. Available in dark and light wood.

Luxist: Massively complicated, the 21 Blackjack has a brand new Christophe Claret movement in it called the BLJ08. It has 501 hand finished parts and two barrels with a 72 hour power reserve. But what really matters is that in addition to the time it lets you play three games. Which games? I am not 100% sure how they will all work, but it will be blackjack, dice, and roulette. The dice game is on the side of the case (which probably has a mechanical dice toss randomizer), and there are images of cards on disc under the smoky sapphire dial. You can probably play blackjack with yourself and the watch is the dealer. You can now lose money to a watch you’ll probably have to spend well over half a million dollars for. If you like, you c... This is a project that sets a new standard of life on water. The innovative concept has overturned the concept of a traditional home and puts living in the classical sense up for discussion, presenting a new dynamic and contemporary vision. This is a modular concept that combines the dynamics and elegance of a boat with a refined living area on at least two levels. Luxist: The wallet has traditionally been a low-tech device but not anymore as biometrics is changing the way we carry money. Dunhill has come out with their own version of the Biometric Wallet that promises to keep your money, id, and credit cards safe from thieves even if they pick your pocket. A carbon fiber exterior keeps things light but unbreakable while a biometric finger-print lock keeps the contents under wraps to all but the owner. And for even more high-tech protection you can connect the wallet to your cell phone via Bluetooth and get an alert if the wallet finds itself too far for comfort (i.e. you’ve been robbed or dropped it somewhere).

Born Rich: Turn your childhood fascination with the phenomenon of the black hole into reality with designer Jon Gilmore’s Nova Black Hole Illuminated Coffee Table. The futuristic table features a center section with rows of white LED lights that look like a black hole sucking up light rays. The glass tabletop highlights the black hole while ensuring it doesn’t suck up your coffee cups, and make it perfect for your living room. The base of the table is made from aluminum in a shiny silver finish and shaped a bit like an alien spaceship. The illuminated coffee table sells for approx. $1,070.

Bornrich: Luxury air travel has suffered a crisis in the economic downturn, but the business-class passengers are still flying on cloud nine. The luxury airlines too are doing everything to make it even better for their first-class passengers. Singapore Airlines, well-known for its first class cabin with the largest seats in the sky, has now introduced a deluxe cabin, known as the "Singapore Suite.” The cabin is more lavish, and more exclusive, than first class on all Singapore Airline A380 aircraft, the world’s largest passenger plane. The suites feature a standalone bed; not one converted from a seat, a lavish armchair hand-stitched by master Italian craftsmen Polt... Read more »

Luxist: Exactly how long a bottle of wine keeps after it’s been opened is a question that has no easy answer, but Eurocave’s SoWine bar aims to extend the shelf-life of your half-empty bottles for up to 10 days. Designed as both a preservation and storage system it has two compartments, each with independent temperature control settings, and vacuum seal technology so you can keep a bottle of white wine and a bottle of red wine at the same time

Wooing%20Elite%20Travelers.jpgBorn Rich: As the luxury travel takes on to woo the elite travelers, British Airways has also introduced their new first class cabin being installed on a B777, which flies from London Heathrow to Chicago O’Hare. The new cabin features a personal wardrobe, a 60 percent wider bed at the shoulders, leather-bound writing table, a 15-inch in-flight entertainment screen, USB port, RCA jack, noise-canceling headsets and personal electronic blinds along with mood lighting. To reach these in-flight luxuries for effortless travel, the design of the cabin is inspired by premium brands like Aston Martin and Jaguar. So, do you still believe that traveling is a dreary experience?
